With South Korea as winner of the 25th edition of the International Cor Groenewegen Tournament, we are now busy already with the 26th edition of the ICGT. This tournament will take place June 11th until June 13th 2011 in Uitgeest. Since the start of the tournament, back in 1985, the ICGT tournament experienced a rapid growth. Two 'unknown' foreign clubs participated in the very first tournament. The tournament has now become an international highly respected competition. This website presents all latest information before, during and after the tournament.
After the Victory of Korea over Japan last May, we are busy already with the 2011 edition. This tournament will be held from June 11th until June 13th 2011.
In 1999 a talented player of Willem II showed us his capacities in Uitgeest. His name was Joris Mathijsen, and he made that clear to the world since then. After a solid player in the first team of Willem II from Tilburg, AZ Alkmaar bought the player. In Alkmaar he developped into a European topflight player, and a transfer abroad was not a surprise. In Hamburg Mathijsen ended uo with HSV, and in 2004 he made his first cap away at Andorra. Mathijsen played all games in the WC 2010 so far.

The organisation is very happy after the first day of the ICGT 2010. Nice and sunny wheather, many fans around the pitches (some even from Brazil and Mexico!), splendid technique and beautiful goals.
Here the results of Day 1, the text is in Dutch, but the results speak for themselves. If you clikc the result short summary of the match follows in the Sutch language, and later tonight a poicture of all games will be added there.
The time after the late notice by the Egyption FA that they saw no chance to send a team to Uitgeest, the time for South Africa to arange the trip appeared too tight. Financial and visa delays made South Africa anounce today that they were sorry not to be able to make the trip in time. KSC Lokeren was willing, and able to play at the tournament instead. Together with Anderlecht, Club Brugge and Standard Liege, Lokeren belongs to the topflight teams in the Belgian youth league.
